Barrel-Aged Earl
Bourbon Barrel-Aged Coffee Oatmeal Stout
A decade since its last appearance, we will offer this week the bourbon barrel-aged version of Earl, named for Edward’s brother (1911-1985), as well as the name of our coffee stout. To anyone that has traveled to Hill Farmstead, perchance you have noticed the former home and farm of Earl: the historic red monitor barn and farmhouse on Jaffin Flats.
In his honor, we brewed a richer, more complex version of the beer and aged it in select bourbon barrels for more than two years, harmonizing its flavors with a light touch of organically grown vanilla beans from Mexico and coffee from Finca Vista Hermosa in Guatemala, sourced and roasted by our longtime friends and collaborators at Coffee Collective in Copenhagen.
