Genealogy of Morals: Rum Barrel—Coffee Collective: Akmel Nuri
Imperial Wheat Stout Brewed with Coffee and Aged in Rum Barrels
Genealogy of Morals, the name of one of our most coveted Nietzschean narratives, also happens to be our barrel-aged wheat imperial stout.
We chose two barrels of our wheat imperial stout, Genealogy of Morals, as the base for a series of single origin coffee experiments. We aged the beer for more than 16 months in Privateer Rum barrels then further conditioned the beer atop Akmel Nuri’s organic Ethiopian coffee beans sourced and roasted by The Coffee Collective in Copenhagen. These friends long ago changed our world-view as to what coffee could be and continue to deeply influence us here at Hill Farmstead.
