15 February | Flora: Pear
On Weds., 19 February, we will release a new batch of Flora: Pear.
Flora is the wine barrel-aged version of Florence (1915-1967), Edward’s sister as well as the name of our Farmstead® wheat ale. We selected several barrels of Flora and aged it atop organic pears, including a variety of dessert pears (Stacey, Summercrisp, Luscious, and Nova), as well as Siberian pears—all from the 2018 harvest at Elmore Roots Nursery in nearby Elmore, Vt.
Soft, subtle fruit notes and a delicate golden hue marry with Flora’s singular elegance to embody and exemplify the elements from which it was crafted.
Packaged in late 2018, we have closely monitored its progress, allowing it intentional and extended bottle conditioning to achieve to its optimal expression of fruit and barrel—a hallmark and signature of our evolving and refined process pursuits.
