Beer Profile: Shirley Mae
This month’s beer profile is our Nitro Session Porter, Shirley Mae, just in time for its return on 15 October.
Shirley Mae (1936 – 2015) was Everett’s daughter, a beloved supporter of her family and Hill Farmstead, and her visit to the brewery in our early days brought us joy and laughter. There is an apple tree planted in the orchard in her memory, as well.
To honor those memories, we brew this nitrogenated session porter from American malted barley, English and German roasted malts, American hops, our ale yeast, water from our well, cocoa nibs, and lactose sugar.
This is not available for takeaway, so please join us in our taproom beginning Wednesday, 15 October, or at select locations in Vermont to enjoy a properly poured cascading glass
