Retail Update for 24 June 2023
Soigné • Raspberry: 2020 Harvest • Edward • Walden • Of First & Last Things • Society & Solitude #9
First of all, thank you to everyone who joined us last Saturday for your patience and understanding as we all experienced a singularly electrifying weather event! Persistence and ingenuity saved the day. We have two quite sympathetic new offerings in bottle this coming week—Soigné and Raspberry: 2020 Harvest—along with four freshly packaged cans. Caja Madera will join us again, here each day this coming week, with taco goodness. Also of note, Greensboro will host its annual Funky Fourth Parade at 10 a.m. on Saturday, 1 July, so plan accordingly if you’re coming to visit us… that is to say, head out early and hang out in town to join the festivities, then head to the brewery!
Soigné
Much in the spirit of Soignée, this Farmstead® Wheat Ale was brewed with organic ingredients, conditioned in French oak wine barrels, and further conditioned on fruit pomace. In contrast, this version eschews the blood orange and lime of the progenitor for a differently articulate expression of each. After 16 months of residency in the wood, this beer was conditioned atop organic raspberry pomace—the colorful and aromatic remnant of our annual Harvest Fruit series. It seems delightful kismet that this would arrive in stride with the beer from which the fruit originally contributed. And, right on cue…
Raspberry: 2021 Harvest
For the next in our harvest season selections, we blended a selection of our Farmstead® ales—all of which spent more than a year in oaken rest—for pairing with organic red raspberries from the 2021 harvest season at Adam’s Berry Farm in Charlotte, Vt. This blend and pairing expresses a thoughtful representation of the fruit in season.
Our retail shop’s bottle selection will also include Sankt; Viola Sofia; Wheat Blanc; Works of Love: Russian River Brewing/The Lost Abbey; Vera Mae 2022; Pear: 2021 Harvest; Sankt Hans; Nonconformist 07; and guest offerings.
Additional canned offerings include Song of Summer (Pale Ale), George (Brown Ale), Double Riwaka (DIPA), Marie (German-style Helles), and Mary (German-style Pilsner).
