Retail Update for 26 April 2025 – Juicy: Lime Gin Barrel-Aged

Juicy: Lime Gin Barrel-Aged

This week, we’ll release Lime Gin Barrel-Aged Juicy, along with Society & Solitude #3 (DIPA) and Earl (Coffee Oatmeal Stout).

First brewed in the Spring of 2012, this Farmstead® ale, which happens to have been (to the best of our knowledge) the first beer to be named “Juicy,” is aged in wine barrels and then generously dry-hopped. This particular version enjoyed a brief additional residency in barrels that previously held London-style lime gin. The lime gin barrels add depth and complexity, introducing subtle citrus and botanical flavors that enhance the essence of Juicy.

This beer serves as a symbolic tribute, inspired by Shaun’s first trip (of many) to New Zealand in 2004—an experience shaped by the striking landscape, vibrant viniculture, and a young man’s first encounter with Sauvignon Blanc and its distinct terroir. It honors the vivid memories of that time and the friendships formed nearly two decades ago.

This Week’s Cans
Part of our exploratory Double IPA series, Society & Solitude #3, is a “Double Harlan,” brewed primarily with Simcoe, Chinook, and Columbus hops. Bold, resinous, and assertively aromatic, it offers a focused and expressive representation of these hop varieties.

Earl is our coffee stout brewed with American malted barley, flaked oats, British roasted malts, American hops, and our distinctive ale yeast, along with carefully selected coffee from George Howell Coffee. The result is a smooth, balanced expression—comforting, familiar, and quietly complex.
