Retail Updates for 15 October 2025
Juicy • Shirley Mae • Susan • Double Citra • James • Sunday Gravel Ride
Coming up this week, our New Zealand-inspired barrel-aged Farmstead® ale, Juicy, returns to our bottle shop, as well as our draft-only Nitro Session Porter, Shirley Mae. We’ll also have three freshly packaged canned offerings: Susan (IPA), Double Citra (DIPA), and James (Black IPA).
Sunday Gravel Rides have concluded for 2025, at least those guided by Phil. As always, folks are welcome to assemble and make a route of their own, but the October 12 ride was the final guided ride for the year. Thank you to everyone who joined Phil throughout the summer and autumn.
Also, a reminder that our winter hours take effect beginning 15 October: Wednesday through Saturday, 11:30 – 5 and Sunday 11:30 – 3, all of which applies to both taproom and retail shop.
Juicy
Juicy is inspired by Shaun’s first trip to New Zealand in 2004 and a recipe developed shortly after his return. Guided by the landscape and viniculture, this beer is a testament to the vivid memories of a young man’s first impression of Sauvignon Blanc and a distinct terroir. It is intended as a symbolic tribute to the spirited inhabitants and friendships formed more than 20 years ago. Following eleven months of conditioning in wine barrels with our resident microflora, the beer that we have referred to as Juicy since 2012 is now ready to be enjoyed.
Shirley Mae
Shirley Mae (1936 – 2015) was Everett’s daughter, a beloved supporter of her family and Hill Farmstead, and her visit to the brewery in our early days brought us joy and laughter. There is an apple tree planted in the orchard in her memory, as well.
To honor those memories, we brew this nitrogenated session porter from American malted barley, English and German roasted malts, American hops, our ale yeast, water from our well, cocoa nibs, and lactose sugar.
