Bourbon Barrel-Aged Maple Syrup • Anna Valiquette • Zwanze Day • Excursions: Idaho 7
On Weds., 25 Sept., we will release this year’s batch of bourbon barrel-aged maple syrup, as well as a special new Anna variant for onsite only enjoyment: Anna Valiquette.
Bourbon Barrel-Aged Maple Syrup
Each year, we fill bourbon barrels from our favorite distilleries with maple syrup produced by our friends at Peck Family Farm in East Montpelier, Vt. The syrup is aged several months and then packaged in a resealable container; this year we will once again offer 750ml glass flip-top containers.
Anna Valiquette Hill (1902-1993) was our grandfather’s sister, whose memory we honor with her namesake Farmstead* ale crafted with Vermont wildflower honey.
We aged a small portion of the beer atop raspberry and blueberry pomace from the 2018 harvest season for nearly 3 months. The result highlights the essence of each fruit within the iconic canvas of Anna®—a variant worthy of her graceful, distinctive middle name.
Please note: this beer will only be available for enjoyment onsite in our tasting room, not for take away.
A reminder that we will participate in this year’s Zwanze Day on Saturday, Sept. 28! This will not be a ticketed special event, but a normal retail day featuring the special Zwanze beer on tap along with a selection of Cantillon bottles available for onsite enjoyment.
You can also look forward to freshly packaged cans of Society & Solitude #4 and a new version of our American brown ale, George, with Coffee Collective Kieni!
Excursions: Idaho 7
In our ongoing exploration of new and experimental hop varieties, we offer Excursions: Idaho 7, developed by Jackson Hop Farm in Wilder, Idaho. Highlighted by tropical fruit and citrus (apricot, orange, red grapefruit, papaya) with notes of resiny pine and hints of black tea.
