Inaugural Brewday
Sunday, 30 March
Taproom and Bottle Shop open 11 to 3
To mark the occasion of the first brewday here at Hill Farmstead Brewery, we will offer special hours on Sunday, 30 March 2025!
After years of imagining and months of planning, Shaun brewed the first batch of beer on 30 March 2010 at the newly formed Hill Farmstead Brewery on his family’s former dairy farm in what was once his grandfather Edward’s detached agricultural shed. This first and all of the early batches were brewed on a system that he cobbled together himself with gifts of the old Mash Tun from the Alchemist and an old kettle from Trout River. Anyone interested in reading about this period in the brewery’s history can read Shaun’s writing from the time HERE.
Accordingly, that first beer: Edward.
Along with the help of his brother Darren and longtime friend Ben, that inaugural brewday began a 15-year adventure, one which we will begin celebrating in earnest on 30 March.
The Details!
This will be a unique day (our first time being open on a Sunday!)—a little bit of a throwback and a look forward at the same time. Both our bottle shop and taproom will be open 11-3 on this special day to all who wish to join us. The taproom will offer a limited menu of just a few items, including Edward, variations of Edward (vintage bottles of E. and a Double Dry-Hopped Cask of Edward), and a few surprise selections. Our bottle shop menu will include all of our standard offerings.
We look forward to reminiscing with you on the day and, hopefully, seeing some familiar faces—albeit 15 years more experienced!
