For the Week of 30 September 2020
For the week of 30 September:
- New release of Bourbon Barrel-Aged Everett
- A new entry in our Self-Reliance series (Centennial).
- Fresh cans of Abner (our imperial IPA) and Galaxy Single Hop Pale Ale
- More tasting sessions!
Barrel-Aged Everett
Everett (1908-1939) was Edward’s brother, as well as the name of our robust porter brewed to honor his memory. We create a richer, more complex version of that porter and age it in Bourbon barrels from our favorite distillery. The beer rested contentedly for two years, harmonizing its flavors with that which the oak could offer, taking on the complex characters that time and spirit provide.
Self-Reliance: Centennial
Ralph Waldo Emerson’s essay “Self-Reliance,” as does all of his writing, continues to inspire and compel us to engage in the perennial introspection, which is to reflect, examine, and refine. In continuing our Self-Reliance series of Farmstead® single-hop India pale ales, this release was brewed in February of 2020, conditioned in puncheons, and hopped exclusively with Centennial from the Pacific Northwest.
Abner and Galaxy Pale Ale
Each week, we release a selection of freshly packaged cans. For just the second time, we will offer cans of Abner, our Ancestral Imperial IPA. First brewed in April of 2010, this was the second beer brewed in our brewery—a recipe that has remained virtually the same since its inception. Also, Galaxy Single Hop, a 5.2% abv pale ale hopped exclusively with Galaxy hops, returns alongside Abner.
Tasting Sessions
Thank you to everyone who joined us for last week’s tasting sessions! We plan to continue them this coming week—Thursday and Friday, this time—so stay tuned for information on those reservations.
Curbside ordering information is available on our retail shop page, or you may order directly at http://toasttab.com/hillfarmstead/.
Same-day ordering is available, but we strongly encourage ordering ahead of time; it’s highly likely that Abner will sell out early on!
Travel
We continue to observe the guidelines set forth by the State of Vermont, including mandatory mask use and revised quarantine requirements. For details, visit https://bit.ly/31gmeVe.
