Cooler nights have crept into the Northeast Kingdom, more than a hint of oranges and yellows greet us on Taylor Road, and we look forward to sharing a few returning offerings this coming week: Autumna, our wood-conditioned fest lager for mugs in the Taproom; along with Excursions: Manilita/Phantasm, Citra IPA, and Society & Solitude #5 available in cans and growlers. MexiRico Authéntico! will join us on Friday and Saturday; while we won’t have a food vendor for Wednesday and Thursday, we certainly encourage folks to bring along food!
Our annual German-style unfiltered fest lager was assembled from under-modified Edelweiss Old World Czech Style Lager Malt from Sugar Creek Malt Co.; German Perle and Mittlefrüh hops; and our own well water. This lightly hopped pale lager was decocted, conditioned in wooden barrels at 3°C for two months, then provided freshly harvested krausen for natural, gentle carbonation. We will have this available for onsite mug pours (no growler fills).
This Excursion is brewed with Manilita, an experimental hop variety that has emerged from our partnership with New Zealand’s Hāpi Hop Research Centre and Freestyle Hops. This also features Phantasm Thiol Powder. Phantasm is made from Marlborough New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc grape skins; rich in Thiol precursors, it enhances and bolsters strong tropical fruit aromas during the fermentation process.
This is our single-hop IPA that is brewed exclusively with personally selected Citra® hops from Washington State’s Yakima Valley.
