A reminder that we will be open our regular retail hours on Thursday, July 4th! For the holiday week, we’ll have four new canned offerings, and Caja Madera will be the food truck on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. 

Also, a heads up that Greensboro will celebrate its annual Funky Fourth Parade at  10 a.m. on Saturday, 6 July, so plan accordingly for your visit to the brewery—maybe incorporate that into your trip!   

Excursions: HBC 586/Phantasm

This entry of Excursions, our exploratory IPA series, features the experimental hop HBC 586 and Phantasm Thiol Powder. Developed by the Hop Breeding Co. (a joint venture between John I. Haas and Yakima Chief Ranches), HBC 586 is perhaps our favorite HBC varietal in the last decade. Phantasm is a fascinating and novel ingredient made from Marlborough New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc grape skins; rich in Thiol precursors, it can enhance and bolster strong tropical fruit aromas during the fermentation process. Developed by longtime friend Jos Ruffell of Phantasm.NZ and the co-owner of New Zealand’s Garage Project, Phantasm is made from leftover organic material after Sauvignon Blanc grapes are pressed, including the skins, pulp, and stems.

In the Retail Shop

Along with the additions this week, our can coolers will feature Edward (Pale Ale), Song of Summer (Pale Ale), Vermont Pale Lager, Nelson Single Hop Pale Ale, Abner (DIPA), and Mary (German-style Pilsner). Our varied bottle selection includes The Order of Things 01, 02, and 03; Brother Soigné (set with Mezcal and Lime Gin Barrel-aged); Farmer Wave; The Order of Things 01, 02, and 03; Biere de Norma; Daybreak; Works of Love: Omnipollo; Wheat Blanc; and Self-Reliance, amongst others.
