Happy Holidays | Juicy | Genealogy: CC—Akmel Nuri
From all of us here at Hill Farmstead Brewery, we wish each of you a peaceful and joyful Hanukkah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa—and Festivus, of course!
We will be closed Christmas Day, Wed., 25 December, and open Thursday through Saturday as normal this coming week.
Thank you for another wonderful year, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
When we reopen on Thursday, 26 December, we will release a new batch of Juicy, this one in 375ml bottles. The origin and prototype of this beer was inspired by first traveling to New Zealand in 2004 — the landscape, the agriculture, and the spirited reflection of its inhabitants. Following several pilot batches in 2005, 2006, and 2007, we first brewed this beer commercially in 2011. Many beers produced here do not have finalized names when they are first brewed—and thus end up with “working titles” during their fermentation, aging, and conditioning. Sometimes, in the case of Juicy, the working title sticks. It very likely may have even been the first beer packaged with Juicy in its name…
Genealogy: Coffee Collective—Daterra
We will also offer the next in our series of draft-only variants of Genealogy in our taproom for to-go 750ml growlers.
For this selection of Genealogy, our stainless-conditioned coffee imperial stout (the base beer for Genealogy of Morals), we have conditioned the beer atop beans from Akmel Nuri in Jimma, Ethiopia, sourced and roasted by our friends at The Coffee Collective in Copenhagen, Denmark.
This will be available in the tasting room for take-away in 750ml growlers only (2L growlers not available).
Bottles of our imperial stout, conditioned in Bourbon barrels from our favorite distillery, will remain available for sale through much of the upcoming holiday week!
Finally, we will have fresh cans of Society and Solitude #6 (Imperial IPA Brewed with Mosaic® Hops), as well as a full selection of other cans, bottles and more in our retail shop.
