Retail Update for 17 August 2022
Shirley Mae • Mary, Of First & Last Things, Society & Solitude #5
Greeted by cooler mornings and a shortening day, we can see the hint of autumn to come. With that on our horizon, we’re glad to once again share our nitro session porter, Shirley Mae, in our taproom. We’ll also refresh our can and growler offerings with Mary, Of First & Last Things, Society & Solitude #5!
Shirley Mae
Shirley Mae was Everett’s daughter, a beloved supporter of her family and Hill Farmstead, and her visits to the brewery in our early days brought us joy and laughter. To honor those memories, we brew this nitrogenated session porter from American malted barley, English and German roasted malts, American hops, our ale yeast, and water from our well. This appearance will feature cocoa nibs from Tibitó Chocolate in Colombia, sourced in partnership with In Situ Food Co. in Maine; a blend of coffees from Costa Rica, Ethiopia, and Guatemala sourced and roasted by George Howell Coffee; and organic vanilla beans from Madagascar Vanilla Co. in Antananarivo, Madagascar. This ale embodies her ebullient and generous spirit—a fitting tribute to warm our hearts on brisk afternoons.
This will not be available for takeaway, and without access to widget technology, we aren’t able package in cans, so please join us in our taproom or at select locations in Vermont to enjoy a properly poured cascading glass.
