Double Barrel Aaron

Brewed in December 2019, this beer rested for more than four years in Bourbon barrels, acquiring depth, warmth, and the distinct character that only extended barrel contact can impart. We chose barrels from two of our favorite distilleries for this undertaking, the first of which lent richness and vanillin over the course of three years, and the second one contributing a counterbalance of high notes and clarity throughout its 14 months of residency.

Aaron A. Hill (1785–1869), the inspiration for this beer’s name, was Edward’s great-great-grandfather.  The sign that hung in his North Greensboro tavern was the inspiration for our logo.
