The Week Ahead for 22 May 2023
Tents go up this coming week, food trucks begin, we’re rolling out several new bottles and cans, and we’ll officially celebrate thirteen years with a week-long commemoration in the taproom that includes an expanded vintage menu of glass, bottle, and draft selections.
Arriving to our retail shop will be four new bottles: Vera Mae 2022; Elaborative Six; Elaborative Seven; and Works of Love: Russian River Brewing/The Lost Abbey. We’ll also offer four freshly packaged cans: Edward, Ephraim, Mary, and Excursions: Nelson Sauvin (Nelson Lakes). We’ll also see the return of Memoria, our Old World German-style helles lagered in wood, and the debut of a new oak-conditioned lager: Vermont Wheat Lager!
Look for profiles for these new offerings in the coming days, taproom teasers, and forthcoming food trucks—but in brief…
Vera Mae 2022
The annual emergence arrives with delightful timeliness, in parallel with the new season and possible flower picking (stay tuned!). Brewed with graciously gathered spring blossoms, organic grains, and Vermont wildflower honey and conditioned in wine barrels.
Elaborative Six and Elaborative Seven
Brewed in June of 2020 in collaboration with Brad Clark of Private Press Brewing, both are comprised of a 33º imperial stout aged simultaneously in wet Bourbon barrels and freshly imported Cognac barrels for 26 months, then blended. Six stands on its own, representative of that intended expression, while Seven expands on the notion, having been conditioned atop Brad’s signature blend of vanilla beans from multiple terroirs.
Works of Love: Russian River Brewing/The Lost Abbey
During the last Festival of Farmhouse Ales in 2019, Shaun was joined by Vinnie and Natalie from Russian River and Tomme Arthur of The Lost Abbey to brew a Farmstead® ale that rested for nearly a year in French and American oak wine barrels and was then conditioned atop Vermont-grown cherries and blackberries.
Can Offerings:
Edward (Pale Ale); Ephraim (Triple IPA); Mary (German-style Pilsner); Excursions: Nelson Sauvin (Nelson Lakes) (IPA); What is Enlightenment? (Pale Ale); Susan (IPA); Society & Solitude #10 (Double IPA); and Everett (Porter).
